What do horses have to do with leadership?
As people, what do we value most? Shared experience, being trusted, accepted, to know and be known... People are both individual and communal. We need each other, but understanding personalities within a group, variation of culture, different communication styles and discovering one's purpose pose a lot of challenges. This is where people developing skills to become effective leaders (no matter their the role or circumstance) and working with horses intersect. We can learn about ourselves and effective leadership by learning to understand a horse's honest feedback. This is called, Equine Assisted Learning or EAL.
Horses are driven by a refined survival instinct that allows them to constantly assess the quality and clarity of a person's intentions. They are sensitive to and non-judgmental toward your energy. Their feedback is honest and instant. In the horse's behavior you will see a reflection of your leadership skills. Are you confident? Are you agitated? Are you calm? They'll know and respond. Our EAL facilitators assist our guests in identifying their challenges and our leadership programs are designed to hone skills that clarify communication, teach an awareness of relational dynamics and nurture the roles each of us have in life, work and community. These are programs that have been scientifically researched and deliver measurable results. We hope you'll join us!
